The Sustainability-Themed Study Abroad program(SSAP) at GT-Shenzhen offers an incredible opportunity for students to immerse themselves in a different culture, take Georgia Tech credit courses, and participate sustainability-themed field trips and activities!
By participating in the program, students will have the opportunity to:
• Take courses related to environmental engineering, sustainability, industrial engineering, as well as certain core courses, taught by GT-Atlanta and GT-Shenzhen faculty members.
• Participate in 6-8 sustainability-themed field trips in and around Shenzhen, including visits to coastal wetland reserves and restoration sites, wastewater treatment plant, waste-to-energy generation facility, electric vehicle design and production company, soilless agricultural farm, and urban botanical garden, among others.
• Engage with local communities and organizations to learn about sustainable practices in China, and network with industry professionals.
• Experience the unique blend of traditional Chinese and high-tech innovation cultures in the dynamic metropolitan city of Shenzhen.
